Wells for Schools Programme

ABOUT THE programme

Building foundational water wells within local schools for convenient clean water access

Sumba is ranked as the 4th poorest province in Indonesia.

In Indonesia, only 70.71% of the country’s population has access to drinking water suitable for consumption, leaving 29.29% (approximately 87 million) people dependent on unsafe water sources.

As one of Sumba’s pioneering resorts, built on the principles of slow travel and intentionality, our vision is rooted in giving back to the island that has become our paradise home.

Our Wells for Schools Programme addresses the current water challenges through sustainable infrastructure that will provide permanent access to clean water in local schools, breaking the cycle of water scarcity and its cascading effects on health, education, and economic welfare.
